Pohnpeian is a language from Pohnpei Island and the Caroline Islands in the Federated States of Micronesia where Micronesian language is spoken by about 29,000 people. Ngatikese, Pingelapese and Mokilese are classified as dialects of Pohnpeian. Pohnpeian is written with the Latin alphabet developed by German missionaries. Pohnpeian shares appox 81% similarity with Pingelapese, 75% with Mokilese, and 36% with Trukic Chuukese.
